Slant Rhyme Studio North Shore Student Art Contest
Slant Rhyme Studio is proud to announce our first Slant Rhyme Studio North Shore Student Art Contest. Open to middle- and high school artists residing on the North Shore of Massachusetts, the goal of this contest is to spark the creativity of North Shore students and support the arts in schools.
Submit up to three of your own ORIGINAL drawings, paintings, photographs or printable digital artworks for a chance to win a prize and/or participation in an in-person art show at Slant Rhyme Studio in Rockport, MA.
RULES:
--students must be between grades 6-12
--must reside on the North Shore
--entries must be made within the last year
--entries must be drawings, paintings, photographs, or original PRINTED digital art. 3D work MUST be able to be hung on a wall and weigh no more than 2lbs.
--size must be no larger than 12” in any direction
Accepted work will be hung with small map pins or magnetic pins unless the artist provides an acceptable alternative.
DEADLINE: November 8, 2024
How to submit: All submissions must be made by emailing up to 3 images to rosemary@slantrhymestudio. Please include: your name and the name of the contest in the subject. Along with your images, please also include your name, school you attend, title of work(s), date created, medium, and size.
Please photograph your work in good lighting without shadows or obstructions. Please crop your images so that the work fills the frame. Please do not alter/filter your images. They should look as close as possible to the real thing.
Prizes: Grand Prize $100, Second Prize $75, Third Prize $50, Runner-up $50 Slant Rhyme Studio Gift Certificate.
If your work is selected for the show, you will be notified via email. Please bring your work to your art teacher. Your work will be collected at your school and returned there as well.
EXHIBIT DATE: Selected artwork will be on display and open to the public at Slant Rhyme Studio, 18 Bearskin Neck, Rockport MA, with a reception on November 16 from 3-5pm. Awards will be ddistributed during the reception. The show will remain on view until November 24, after which all work will be returned to the schools.
OPTION TO SELL: If your work is selected for the exhibit, you will have the option to sell your pieces. If sold, artists will receive 85% of the sale price, with the remaining 15% donated to your school’s art department to use at their discretion.
